Presbytery Habitat Build History – Culver City
Culver City Habitat for Humanity Build Completed August 2020!
There are now 10 homes across from Culver City Presbyterian Church built largely by area corporations, civic organizations, and faith-based coalitions. Presbytery of the Pacific was an early embracer of this site and supported Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles in several ways including: volunteer build hours, lunches on Presbytery build days, advocacy for affordable housing, countless meetings, special offerings/donations of $225,000+ over the last three years.
The Presbytery committed to building this unique community on Globe Avenue while strengthening our own relationships across congregations by encouraging a cross-section of our churches to be represented on each build day. A total of 33 Presbytery of the Pacific churches supported the Culver City Habitat Build in at least one way prior to our building days coming to an end in March due to social distancing requirements.

Many thanks to our congregational Habitat Champions charged with providing updates, enlisting volunteers and lunches, and keeping the enthusiasm alive in their home churches. Abundant thanks to all our volunteers, clergy and Presbytery leadership for unwavering support and perseverance to help bring this build to fruition over the last 13+ years!
Updates will continue for this Culver City Habitat Community. After all, these 10 families are literally our newest neighbors on the block and it is our intention to be in relationship with them!
