Earth Care Congregation Program of PCUSA
The link above provides a resource guide for churches interested in becoming an Earth Care Congregation.
First, to become an Earth Care Congregation, churches make an Earth Care Pledge to integrate environmental practices on their church campus. Then, churches complete projects and activities in the aresa of worship, education, facilities, and outreach.
Next, churches complete an application for their first year and track their progress with their commitments. Annual renewal (another form) is required. Churches must apply before they can be recognized as an Earth Care Congregation and gain certification. This certification is designed to recognize churches that have committed to taking God’s charge to be good stewards of Earth seriously.
